University is in its tenth year of offering a 7- year, integrated training program in academic orthopaedic surgery and is seeking applicants for the entering class of 2. Residents in the Physician- Scientist Training Program begin their training with 2 years of uninterrupted laboratory research, followed by Wake. Forest. Residents have a full clinical experience in all sub- specialty areas. Recent graduating residents have placed in a variety of fellowships including Trauma, Hand, Sports, Foot & Ankle, and Total Joints. Residents enjoy a high level of autonomy throughout the program and are well prepared for fellowship training or as general orthopaedic surgeons. Applicants are expected to be competitive in terms of USMLE scores, grades and recommendations. In addition, interest and experience in research is heavily weighted.
